AAM PANNA SHARBAT
Dear Diary… I Sipped a Sharbat and Teleported to My Summer Childhood
Written by: Chini from Charliee
Dear Diary,
Today, summer hit hard. I’m talking sweaty neck, no electricity, don’t-touch-me levels of hot. So naturally, I did what every Indian kid does when it’s 40°C outside — I opened the fridge in hope.
And there it was. That gorgeous glass bottle of Charliee’s Aam Panna Sharbat maa had sent last week.
I poured it over ice, took a sip, and time-travelled straight to our old ancestral home in Bhavnagar. The backyard. Bullock carts and Melting kulfis. Cousins spraying each other with the garden pipe. And in the middle of it all? Nani’s giant steel jug of homemade aam panna.
Charliee’s version? Honestly? It’s just like that. Tart, minty, slightly spiced — refreshing in the most nostalgic way.
Turns out their sharbats are made using real fruit pulp with no over-the-top sugar, and definitely not that watery taste you get in packaged drinks. Just real aam, lemon, jeera, and ground spices blended and bottled with love. And yep — you can buy aam panna sharbat online too. Thank God.
Diary, I think I cried a little.
(Okay not cried, but you get it.)
Some drinks cool you down.
This one took me back.
Love,
Chini
